In the memoria del título you can consult the complete list of academic competences accredited by the Master's Degree in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Jaén.

To access this master's degree, it is required to be in possession of a degree that allows the access to master's degree in the country of origin.

For Spanish students, this master is aimed, preferably, at graduates in any of the branches of Telecommunications Engineering who give access to the profession of Technical Telecommunication Engineer in any of their specialties (Telecommunication Systems, Computer Networks, Electronic Systems and Sound and Image), as well as graduates of telecommunication degrees that do not give access to the profession of Technical Telecommunication Engineer. Also, to Technical Telecommunication Engineers in any of their specialties (Telecommunication Systems, Telematics, Electronic Systems and Sound and Image), but in this case with training supplements.

For abroad students, the access to this master's degree is allowed for students who have completed degrees related to Telecommunications Engineering studies. In this case, the required training supplements may be established to complete the competencies required by Ministerial Order CIN / 355/2009 in its section 4.2.

In addition, the student of a bachelor's degree that gives access to the master's degree, and who remains to pass the Project and, at most, up to 9 ECTS credits, may access and enroll in the master's degree, although under no circumstances may he/she obtain the master's degree if he/she has not previously obtained the bachelor's degree.

For those graduates in Engineering from other branches who do not comply, in their training, with what is indicated in the aforementioned Ministerial Order, complementary training will be established, where appropriate, provided that the credit load of these complements does not exceed the equivalent of 20 percent of the credit load of the master’s degree.

It will also be possible to access this master’s degree through the Academic Program with Successive Courses (Programa Académico con Recorridos Sucesivos, PARS) in Telecommunications Engineering via the Degree in Telematics Engineering and via the Degree in Telecommunications Technologies Engineering. This access, without having completed the degree, will be possible as long as the Project and one or more elective subjects are pending, which, in no case, on the whole (Project and elective subjects) may exceed 30 ECTS credits. Exceptionally, the 30 ECTS will be allowed to include 9 ECTS of compulsory subjects provided that the academic committee of the master's degree evaluates these subjects, in such a way that the acquired skills are not necessary to study the Master and therefore do not endanger the achievement of the learning outcomes corresponding to the Master.

The teaching of this master is taught entirely in English, so it must be accredited, as a requirement for enrollment, a language proficiency in English of level B1 or higher, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This requirement will not be necessary for those students who prove that their access degree has been taught in English or that English is the official language in their country of origin.

According to the Ministerial Order CIN/355/2009, Section 4.2., the following candidates are eligible to apply to the Master’s program:

4.2.1 The student is eligible to apply to the Master which certifies the bearer as a professional Telecommunication Engineer when they have previously acquired the competences listed in Section 3 of the Ministerial Order, which establishes the requirements for the verification of official university degrees that certify them as a professional Technical Engineer in Telecommunication, and the training in accordance with that which is established in Section 5 of the aforementioned Ministerial Order.

4.2.2. Likewise, the student can apply to the Master when their undergraduate degree confirms that they have taken the basic training module and the module common to the branch, not yet covering a complete block of the technology module specific and with 48 credits of those offered in the set of the blocks of said module of an undergraduate degree certifying the profession of Technical Engineer in Telecommunication, in accordance with the same Ministerial Order.

4.2.3. Additionally, anyone in possession of any undergraduate degree will be eligible to apply to this Master’s program, including those for whom prerequisites must be met if deemed necessary.

The three previous sections will be understood notwithstanding Article 17.2 and in the additional fourth provision in Royal Decree 1393/2007 of October 29th. Students with undergraduate degrees certifying them as professional Technical Engineers in Telecommunication can apply to the Master’s program without additional training. For those with degrees in Technical Engineering in Telecommunication, other graduates and technical engineers, the necessary training including the additional competences required by the Ministerial Order CIN/355/2009 in Section 4.2. will be determined.

Additionally, graduates in accordance with educational systems outside the European Higher Education Area may access without the need for homologation of their degrees, after verification by the University that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that they qualify in the country to access postgraduate education. Access through this route will not imply, in any case, the homologation of the previous title in possession of the interested party, nor its recognition for other purposes than those of studying for a master's degree.

Students taking this Master's degree must provide evidence of linguistic competence in English at level B1 or higher, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. This requirement will not be necessary for those students who accredit that your access degree has been taught in English or this is the official language in the country of origin.

The allocation of places is carried out centrally by the Comisión del Distrito Único Andaluz, on whose website you can consult the updated deadlines and procedures.

Here you can find the specific information of the UJA about the enrollment processes, their modalities, time, prices, etc.
